Where can you work on my vehicle?

Anywhere with safe, level, hard ground, enough room to work around the vehicle, and permission to be there. Driveways, apartment and workplace parking lots, business yards and job sites all work. We cannot work on soft ground, a steep slope, or in an active traffic lane.

Can you work at my job?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as your employer or the property manager allows it. Plenty of our work happens in workplace parking lots while our customers are inside working. Confirm with whoever manages the lot before we schedule.

Question 3

Do I need permission from my apartment complex?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. Many complexes have rules about vehicle work on the property. Ask management first — a two-minute conversation avoids us both getting turned away after we have arrived and unloaded.

Question 4

What happens if weather is bad?

Accepted Answer

Some jobs go ahead in rain or cold; some do not, either for safety or because the work requires dry conditions to be done right. If weather forces a change, we contact you and reschedule. We will not rush a job in conditions that compromise it.

What services do you actually offer mobile?

Accepted Answer

Three: pre-purchase vehicle inspections, mobile oil service, and fleet service for small business vehicles. That is the whole list. We do not perform brake, electrical, cooling, suspension or other general repair work.

What if my car needs a repair you do not do?

Accepted Answer

We tell you plainly what we found and what it means, and we point you toward a qualified local shop for the actual repair. We would rather send you somewhere that can do the job right than pretend it is something we handle.

Why do prices say Starting At?

Accepted Answer

Because the same repair is genuinely not the same job on every vehicle. Starting At is the honest floor for a common vehicle in normal condition. Your exact vehicle gets quoted before we start, and you approve that number first.

What can change the final price?

Accepted Answer

Vehicle complexity and component access, rust and seized fasteners, part quality and availability, how many covers or shields have to come off, and whether related parts have to be replaced to do the job correctly. We explain each one that applies to you.

Question 9

Is diagnosis included in repair labor?

Accepted Answer

Diagnostics is its own service with its own time and equipment, quoted separately and approved by you. When we perform the repair that the diagnosis identified, we apply diagnostic labor toward the repair wherever the work genuinely overlaps. We will tell you the specifics before you commit.

Question 10

Do customer-supplied parts change pricing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you supply the part, you pay labor only — but the warranty is on you, and if the part is wrong or fails we still have to charge for the labor to do it again. We will always tell you honestly whether supplying your own part is a good idea for that specific repair.

Question 11

Are there additional charges for rust or difficult access?

Accepted Answer

There can be, and we tell you before we start rather than after. Ohio winters seize fasteners. When a bolt has to be cut, heated or drilled, that is real additional time. You approve any change before we continue.

Do you offer check-engine-light or diagnostic service?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not perform diagnostics as a standalone service. During a pre-purchase inspection we pull stored codes as part of evaluating a vehicle you are considering buying, and during an oil service we will mention anything obvious we notice. Beyond that, diagnosing an active problem on a vehicle you already own belongs with a qualified repair shop.

Question 13

Is a code scan the same as a diagnosis?

No. A scan reads what the computer stored. A diagnosis tests why. A code like a lean-condition fault can be caused by a vacuum leak, a fuel-delivery problem or a sensor — the scan alone cannot tell you which, and that follow-up testing is work a shop performs, not us.

Why can several parts cause the same code?

Because codes describe a circuit or a condition, not a component. The computer reports that a reading is out of range. Any part of the system that could put it out of range — sensor, wiring, connector, or the mechanical condition itself — is a candidate until a technician tests it out.

Question 15

My check-engine light is on. What should I do?

If it is flashing, stop driving and call for a tow — that usually means an active misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. If it is steady, get it scanned and diagnosed at a qualified shop soon. If the vehicle is one you are thinking about buying rather than one you own, that is exactly what our pre-purchase inspection is for.

Do you offer a general inspection on a car I already own?

Not as a separate product. During a mobile oil service we take a quick visual look at belts, hoses, fluid levels and obvious wear, and we will tell you honestly what we see. For a deeper, system-by-system inspection, that level of detail is what our pre-purchase inspection is built for — and it is written for anyone deciding whether to buy a specific vehicle.

Is it good to have something looked at before a road trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Long trips punish weak batteries, tired belts, marginal cooling systems and worn tires. If it is your own vehicle, a trusted local shop can run a proper pre-trip check on the systems we do not service. If you are buying a vehicle for the trip, that is squarely our pre-purchase inspection.

Can an oil-service visit catch future maintenance concerns?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes. If something looks obviously worn or low while we are already under the hood, we will point it out. It is not a substitute for a full inspection, and we will say so rather than imply otherwise.

Does that visual check include repairs?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not perform brake, suspension, cooling or electrical repair work. If we notice something, we will tell you plainly what it is and recommend you get it addressed at a qualified shop.

When should I book the inspection — before or after I make an offer?

Accepted Answer

Before money changes hands, and ideally before you commit to a number. A written offer contingent on inspection is fine; a non-refundable deposit is not. The whole value of the report is that you can still walk away when you read it.

Can you inspect a vehicle I am buying from out of state?

Accepted Answer

Only if the vehicle is physically inside our Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky service area. If it is sitting on a lot three states away, we will tell you plainly that we cannot help and suggest finding a local independent shop there instead.

Does the inspection include a road test?

Accepted Answer

Wherever the seller permits it, yes — cold start when we can get one, then a drive that includes some real speed and some braking. Transmission behavior, tracking, vibration and noise mostly reveal themselves under load, not in a parking space.

What do I actually receive at the end?

Will you inspect a vehicle I already own?

That is a Vehicle Health Check, not a pre-purchase inspection. Same thoroughness, different question: one asks whether to buy, the other asks what to plan for next.

Do you get paid more if you find problems?

Accepted Answer

No. The inspection fee is the inspection fee, and you are never obligated to have us perform any repair we find. There is nothing in it for us either way, which is exactly why the report is worth reading.

Do you do brake, starter, alternator, cooling-system or suspension repair?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mobile mechanic service is active: batteries, starters, alternators, belts, tensioners, pulleys, selected cooling, hose, sensor, ignition and electrical work, plus other bolt-on repairs. What can be completed at your location depends on the vehicle, the diagnosis, parts availability, safety and working conditions — and if a repair belongs in a shop, we say so.

Do you perform internal engine or transmission work?

No. That has never been part of what we do mobile, and it still is not.

Do you do diagnostics or check-engine-light work?

Yes. Mobile diagnostics is one of our core services — code scanning, live data, charging and starting system testing and symptom verification, then a plain-English explanation of what we actually found before anything is replaced.

Is every repair possible in my driveway?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Bolt-on mechanical work, diagnostics and maintenance are usually mobile-friendly. Heavy internal engine and transmission rebuilding, press work, alignments and body work are not, so we tell you up front and point you to a shop that does that job right.
