The difference that matters

Health Check vs. Diagnostic

Vehicle Health Check

A general once-over of the vehicle. We look, measure and write down what we see so you can plan and budget. Best when nothing is obviously wrong yet.

Diagnostic

Targeted testing to find the cause of a specific complaint — a light, a noise, a stall, a no-start. Best when something is already happening.

See diagnostics instead

What's included

  • Visual inspection of the vehicle inside, outside and underneath
  • Fluid inspection — engine oil, coolant, brake, power steering and washer
  • Belt inspection for cracking, glazing and fraying
  • Hose inspection for swelling, softness, chafing and leaks
  • Battery inspection including terminals, cables and mounting
  • Tire inspection — tread depth, wear pattern and pressure
  • Brake visual inspection of pads, rotors and visible lines
  • Suspension visual inspection for leaking struts and worn components
  • Basic diagnostic scan when appropriate
  • Written recommendations you keep, whether you hire us or not

The goal

Stay ahead of breakdowns instead of reacting to them

Most people learn about a problem the day it strands them. A health check moves that conversation earlier — while the vehicle is still in your driveway and the options are still cheap.

Every finding is sorted into safety now, service soon, or monitor, so you always know what actually needs your money this month and what can honestly wait.

Written recommendations, no obligation

You keep the write-up. Take it to any shop, or hand it to a future buyer. The inspection is the product, not a sales appointment.

Questions

Vehicle Health Check FAQ

How much does a Vehicle Health Check cost?

Starting at $59. That covers the inspection itself on a common vehicle at one location. Larger vehicles, RVs, fleet groups or multi-vehicle visits are quoted before we schedule, and you always approve the number first.

Is a Vehicle Health Check the same as a diagnostic?

No. A Vehicle Health Check is a general inspection that identifies maintenance concerns, visible wear and potential future issues before they become expensive repairs. A diagnostic is targeted testing to find the cause of a specific complaint — a warning light, a noise, a stall or a no-start. If the health check turns up something that needs testing, we will tell you and quote the diagnostic separately.

Do I have to get the repairs done through you?

No. The written recommendations are yours to keep. Take them to any shop you like. The inspection is the product.

How long does it take?

Most health checks are completed in a single visit at your home, workplace or business. We give you a realistic time estimate for your specific vehicle when we schedule.

How is this different from a pre-purchase inspection?

A Vehicle Health Check is for a vehicle you already own. A pre-purchase inspection is for a vehicle you are considering buying, and it ends with the Confident Buyer's Report™ and a clear buy, negotiate or walk-away recommendation.

Transparent pricing

You approve the number before we touch the vehicle.

Mobile repair pricing is quoted per job because no two vehicles, locations or repairs are identical. Here is exactly what moves the number, so nothing about your invoice is a surprise.

Vehicle type

A compact sedan, a three-quarter-ton work truck and a Class C RV are three different jobs, even for the same repair.

Repair complexity

Access, fasteners, and how much has to come apart drive labor time more than the part itself does.

Parts

Quality tier and availability change the number. We tell you which option we are quoting and why.

Customer supplied parts

You may supply your own parts. We will explain the trade-offs on warranty and fitment before we install them.

Scheduling urgency

Same-day and after-hours requests are accommodated where possible and are quoted up front.

Vehicle location

Distance from our Norwood base and the working conditions on site factor into the quote.

  • No hidden fees.
  • No surprise charges.
  • Written approval before any work begins.
  • If the price changes, we stop and ask first.

Published starting prices are pending owner approval. Rather than post a number we have not confirmed, we quote your specific job directly — and we hold that quote.

GPS dispatch advantage

Share your exact location. We come straight to the vehicle.

Instead of describing a driveway, a back lot or the far corner of an office park, you can securely share your precise GPS location when you request service. It is optional, it is used only to dispatch your appointment, and it makes the whole visit smoother.

  • Faster arrival

Your shared coordinates route our technician straight to the vehicle instead of to a general address.

  • More accurate ETA

Real distance beats a guessed address, so the arrival window we quote is the one you actually get.

  • Fewer address mistakes

No transposed house numbers, no wrong-side-of-the-street confusion, no wasted trips.

  • Easier parking lot service

Large office, apartment and retail lots are hard to describe. A pin puts us at the right row.

  • Easier service away from home

If the vehicle is parked somewhere unfamiliar, a location share removes all the guesswork.

Where we work

Centrally based in Norwood, Ohio

Our home base is 2219 Park Avenue, Norwood, Ohio 45212. Norwood sits near the middle of the Cincinnati map, which is exactly why we chose it — everything we serve expands outward from there. Customers closest to Norwood typically experience the fastest response times, and we still serve the greater Cincinnati metro, Clermont County and Northern Kentucky.

Closest to our Norwood base

These neighborhoods sit closest to 2219 Park Avenue in Norwood, so they typically see our fastest scheduling and shortest arrival windows.

Greater Cincinnati & Clermont County

Regularly scheduled service across the wider Hamilton, Butler and Clermont County area. Arrival windows are slightly longer than Tier 1.

Northern Kentucky & outer counties

Served by appointment. Tell us the location when you request service and we will confirm scheduling honestly rather than over-promise.

Do not see your neighborhood? Ask anyway. We would rather tell you honestly that a location is outside our range than book a visit we cannot make on time.
